Grounds for Health's cervical cancer screening, treatment and training programs successfully address this problem; and, by bringing life-saving care to mothers -- and future mothers -- who are the lifeblood of their families, they are saving daughters, sons, husbands and communities.”

Grounds for Health is a nonprofit organization founded to provide healthcare services to women in coffee growing communities. Our goal is to create sustainable and effective cancer prevention programs with a focus on the early detection and treatment of cervical cancer, a leading cause of death among women who lack access to health care.

Grounds for Health's work is made possible through a unique partnership between American specialty coffee companies and the coffee growing communities where they do business.

In many countries where coffee is grown, cervical cancer rates are among the highest in the world. However, this disease is both preventable and, when caught early, one of the most treatable cancers.

Our mission is to bring effective cervical cancer screening and treatment to women in the coffee growing communities of Mexico, Central America and, in 2009, Tanzania. We use an innovative method called the Single Visit Screen & Treat Approach. Learn more...
