DS Services is no stranger to helping women’s causes. Athena® was created by a breast cancer survivor in 2003 to help fund the battle against women’s cancers. DS Services purchased Athena in 2010, and Athena has become a recognized brand with nationwide distribution. Now the company has expanded its support for women’s care internationally with Grounds for Health.

I attended the Grounds for Health [SCAA] reception in April. While there I witnessed a first-hand recap of the processes involved and benefits provided in this group’s fight against cervical cancer in the coffee growing regions of the world. The presentation jolted me in a profound way. I was never lacking in being provided information concerning the multiple plights of the families in coffee’s countries of origin. I simply opted not to learn more nor become a solution participant. That has now changed.
Special thanks to Mr. Shea who took our message home to his leadership team, and to the DS Services President and CEO, Tom Harrington, who approved this generous donation. In 2015, Grounds for Health will work closely with DS Services Vice President of Marketing Donna Staton and her marketing team to communicate the impact of this support to DS Services customers and throughout the coffee value chain.
