In Memoriam: Dr. Francis Fote

We’d like to take a moment to honor and remember Grounds for Health co-founder Dr. Francis Fote. Without the vision of Dr. Fote and fellow founder Dan Cox, tens of thousands of women never would have received life-saving care.

FOTE – Dr. Francis Anthony Passed away peacefully on August 8, 2015. Francis was born in Olean, NY the eldest of five children of Italian immigrants … Over the course of his 43 year medical career, Frank managed practices in Lackawanna, South Buffalo, West Seneca and Derby, NY and held many esteemed positions including: Chief of OB/GYN at Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Director at Mercy Hospital, Medical Director of Our Lady of Victory Infant Home and teacher of OB/GYN at University of Buffalo Medical School. Frank’s dedication to non-profit initiatives such as Grounds for Health and Adelante has helped to save countless lives in Mexico and Arizona. Perhaps the contribution that meant the most to Frank was helping to deliver more than 15,000 babies, “without losing a mother.”
