Challenge Extended + Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

JUST IN: Since January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and we are so close to our goal, our generous benefactor has agreed to extend the $200,000 Challenge until the end of the month!

This is an amazing opportunity to roll out our new initiative to reach more women than ever before.

Only $1,871 to go to our $200,000 goal!!

Remember that all $1,871 will be matched, meaning that we could raise $400,000 in total from the challenge. These funds will go a long ways to ensuring our success this year and beyond.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

As January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, we thought we’d share a few quick points:

  • Cervical cancer is nearly 100% preventable — early detection is key
  • Vast majority of deaths from cervical cancer (over 85% of global burden) occur in the developing world
  • Cervical cancer attacks women in their prime, which has a disastrous impact on their family, community and economy
  • Technologies exist and are being implemented that can prevent needless deaths

Since 1996, Grounds for Health has screened 232,536 and treated 19,103 women for cervical cancer. We have trained more than 350 community-based clinicians in 8 countries of Latin America and East Africa. We are experts at reaching women in the developing world who have limited to no access to health care services, and are known in the global health community as an organization that possesses a unique combination of clinical credibility and local agility.

Grounds for Health is poised to demonstrate how new diagnostic and treatment methods can be used with the single visit approach. This will allow us and others to dramatically scale up our screening and treatment programs and fewer women will die of cervical cancer.

If anyone can do it, we can!
