Get Ready for International Women’s Day
March 8, 2020 is International Women’s Day!
It’s coming up fast, so what do you think? Would you consider doing something to promote the day?
This year’s theme is #EachForEqual:
Equality is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue. Gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive. A gender equal world can be healthier, wealthier and more harmonious–so what’s not great about that?
We couldn’t agree more. We see every day how championing women’s health positively impacts coffee-growing communities.
And, in honor of International Women’s Day 2020, we warmly invite you to do something special to support a nonprofit working internationally or in your hometown.
Here are a few ideas :
Coffee companies: donate your proceeds and celebrate the cause.
We heard about this great idea from Montana Coffee Traders:
We occasionally hold events that we call “Community Coffee Days,” where all sales accrued over a weekend from “batch” brewed coffee are donated to the cause.
This year we plan to hold one on Int’l Women’s Day (Sunday, Mar 8th). Presently we have four women-grown coffees on our menu, and we will be brewing and promoting them all for this fundraiser. We will be talking with customers about Grounds for Health, and the need for the work this organization is doing.
What a fun, generous idea! If you’d like to do your own version of this, let us know and we’ll send you our logo and some images you could use.

Make a donation to a women empowering cause that you care about.
While we absolutely love and appreciate any donation to Grounds for Health (you can donate HERE), we encourage you to find a local non-profit or women’s organization in your community to support. Or donate to one of our favorite nonprofits that support women and girls such as the International Women’s Coffee Alliance, CoffeeKids, Food4Farmers and Basic Health International
