Program Info
Program Description
The 2012 program year marked the beginning of Grounds for Health’s program in Kilimanjaro in collaboration with Kilimanjaro Specialty Coffee Growers Association (Kilicafe), Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), and the Tanzania Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW). Simultaneously, Tanzania was making great strides in the area of program development in cervical cancer prevention. In 2011, with input from Grounds for Health, Tanzania developed and began implementing national guidelines in cervical cancer prevention.
In 2013, in light of the growing number of large international NGOs with resources for cervical cancer prevention and strong national ownership, Grounds for Health re-assessed its role and chose to focus activities on community health promoter training in Kilimanjaro and program evaluation in Kigoma.
