Visiting Supporters Out West

Last month, our Director of Philanthropy, Kyle Engelman, traveled to the West Coast for two exciting opportunities to learn from donors and partners and share more about Grounds for Health. It was her first opportunity to travel since the pandemic started, and the first opportunity to share in-person the amazing year we’ve had!

First up: California, with a stop at Equator’s roasting facility and an event hosted by Royal Coffee, Inc. at their coffee laboratory, The Crown. Royal pulled together an amazing list of some of our most committed donors and partners, including folks from Peet’s, Sweet Maria’s / Coffee Shrub, Mr. Espresso, Red Bay Coffee, and Oatly.

Next up: CoffeeFest NW in Portland, OR. Kyle visited with new and existing donors at our booth, including folks from Balzac Brothers and Company, Batdorf & Bronson, Farmer Brothers, Sisters Coffee Company, Roast Magazine, and many more. She gave a powerful presentation at the Education Garden titled “Coffee and Social Justice – Keeping Women Healthy at the Beginning of the Supply Chain.” And, one of our sustaining donors, Monin, hosted a raffle on our behalf. Congratulations to Kelene Stinson of Cozy Mug Coffee Cart for winning Beats headphones and a $25 iTunes card!

Thanks, as always, to our supporters and friends for the warm welcome and generous support for women’s health. We are inspired every day by your shared belief that women at coffee origin deserve the same opportunities as women everywhere.
